Every vape, from the smallest disposable to the biggest mod, is built around a lithium-ion battery — the same chemistry as your phone, usually with less protective engineering around it. Lithium batteries have a temperature range where they're perfectly safe, and a Florida summer spends a remarkable amount of time outside it.

Park lockers beat the car by a mile for anything battery-powered, since most locker banks are indoors.

Two last habits that prevent most non-heat incidents: keep loose spare batteries (for refillable mods) in a case so keys and coins can't bridge the terminals, and keep every device and liquid where kids can't reach — nicotine e-liquid is genuinely hazardous to small children, which is reason enough on its own.
